At Scout House Shop, we take the same care with our returns process as we do in curating our collection of artisanal homewares and fine fragrances. We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase of our Cire Trudon candles, MAD et LEN fragrances, or handmade soaps.

Our Return Policy

We accept returns and exchanges within 15 days of receiving your order. To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused, in its original packaging, and in the same condition as when you received it.

Please note: For hygiene reasons, we cannot accept returns on opened fragrance products (including Cire Trudon, MAD et LEN, Miller et Bertaux, and Santa Maria Novella items) or handmade soaps unless they arrive damaged or defective.

How to Initiate a Return or Exchange

  1. Contact us within 15 days of receiving your order at [email protected] with your order number and details about the product you would like to return or exchange.
  2. Our customer care team will respond with return instructions and a return authorization number within 2 business days.
  3. Pack your return securely in the original packaging, including all accessories and documentation.

Return Shipping

Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the return is due to our error (wrong item shipped or defective product). We recommend using a trackable shipping service and purchasing shipping insurance as we cannot guarantee we will receive your returned item.

Refund Process

Once your return is received and inspected (typically within 5 business days), we will notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. If approved:

  • Refunds will be processed to the original payment method within 10 business days
  • Shipping costs are non-refundable
  • For exchanges, we will ship your new item once the return is processed

Damaged or Defective Items

If you receive a damaged or defective item, please contact us immediately at [email protected] with photos of the damaged product and packaging. We will arrange for a replacement or refund at no additional cost to you.

International Returns

For our international customers (excluding certain Asian countries and remote regions), please note that return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer and original shipping fees are non-refundable. Customs duties and taxes for returned items are also non-refundable.
